Custom Tungsten Carbide Wear Parts for Oil & Gas Drilling

Core Industry Challenges

  • In oil and gas exploration and production, downhole tools must simultaneously withstand high-pressure mud pulses exceeding tens of megapascals,

high-velocity sand-laden fluid erosion, and prolonged exposure to corrosive media such as hydrogen sulfide.

Conventional alloy steels often develop seal face leakage or body erosion grooves within hundreds of hours,

leading to unplanned tripping operations that can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars per incident.

TX Carbide Solution

Cemented tungsten carbide, with its high hardness (HRA 87–91) from the WC hard phase and appropriate toughness from the cobalt binder,

is the material of choice for drill bit nozzles, carbide bushings, valve seats and trims, and mud pump liners. Upon customer request,

we can provide hot isostatic pressing (HIP) densification to effectively eliminate residual internal porosity and enhance overall density and strength,

allowing our custom tungsten carbide wear parts to maintain structural integrity and dimensional stability during extended service deep underground.

TC Parts Custom Product Range

We specialize in non-standard cemented carbide wear parts and made-to-print wear parts,

with full-chain capabilities from powder formulation and pressing through low-pressure sintering to precision grinding.

Whether complex-geometry drill bit nozzles, large-sized carbide seal rings and casing centralizer wear pads,

or protective housings for downhole measurement tools, we manufacture to customer drawings.

Every batch undergoes rigorous hardness and metallographic inspection.
